Raja & Arvind

Raja grew up in a village in Tamil Nadu, south India. His earliest memories are helping his dad out on the family’s rice fields and climbing coconut trees for his ma’s coconut chutney. Food has always been an important part of his life and he has pursued this passion through hospitality management across India and the UK. Having settled in Bristol, in 2016 he finally had the opportunity to open Nutmeg with an aim of enhancing the education of Indian cuisine and culture.

Head Chef Arvind developed a love of food through his mom’s home cooking and spent many days helping her out in the kitchen. Arvind hails from India’s capital city of Delhi in north India, a bustling metropolis that attracts people from across the country of India. Where people come, food always follows, and Arvind was exposed to a range of different Indian cuisines which encouraged his passion and knowledge of food and cooking techniques. This led to him working at some of Delhi’s most esteemed hotels including the Taj hotels. He has also worked in Singapore, Germany, and the UK.
